Makar Sankranti: Ban on devotees taking holy dip, entry at ‘Har ki Pauri’ in Haridwar restricted

Jan. 11: As the country sees huge surge in Covid-19 cases throughout the country, the Haridwar district administration has completely banned devotees taking holy dip in Ganges on Makar Sankranti on 14 January. Further, entry at ‘Har ki Pauri’ area has also been restricted. Night curfew will be imposed from 10 PM to 6 AM on 14 January.

Uttarakhand is one of the 5 states which would go for the polls this month. The state has banned all political rallies till 16 January, 2022. Legislative Assembly elections will be held in Uttarakhand on 14 February 2022 to elect 70 members of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on 10 March 2022.
