Maj Gen Ananta Bhuyan visits NCC Group HQ Silchar

April 11: Major General Ananta Bhuyan, Sena Medal, ADG, NCC Directorate, NER Shillong visited NCC Group Headquarters, Silchar on 9 April. He was received by Brigadier Pramit Saxena, Sena Medal, Group Commander, Silchar.

The General Officer, who was on his first official visit to Silchar, was briefed by the Group Commander on the various activities carried out by the Units of the Silchar Group. The briefing also covered, detailed aspects on the activities carried out by schools/ colleges through NCC cadets and their immense contribution to the society towards educating the locals during COVID times as also facilitating activities of the district administration, such as, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Blood Donation Camps, Voter Awareness Drive, Celebrations under the Swarnim Vijay Varsh 2021 (The glorious 50th year of Indian victory over Pakistan in the 1971 operations). The ADG appreciated the efforts of the NCC Units in imparting training to the cadets under pandemic scenario, thus empowering them to become better citizens.

Major General Ananta Bhuyan, Sena Medal also visited the units, wherein he was accorded the Guard of Honour by the cadets. He also interacted with the instructional staff and the Associate NCC Officers and reiterated his priority to ensure training and grooming the cadets to become self-reliant, disciplined and confident citizens. He appreciated the efforts of the Commanding Officers of the Silchar Group and their entire staff who devised innovative methods to carry out sustained interaction and training of NCC cadets through various online platforms as well as activities on ground while maintaining social distancing during this COVID scenario.
