Leo & Lions quench thirst of 2700 people on Monday during Kali Puja

October 30: Leo Club of Silchar Central along with their parent organisation, Lions Club of Silchar Central belonging to District 322G came out on the streets and distributed water among more than 2700 passers-by on Monday during Kali Puja.

Lions and Leo set up their water distribution centre near the Zero Boys Group Kali Puja Pandal at Hospital Road, SIlchar. Enthusiastic young Leos along with the experienced Lions made it a perfect combination of social service. After heavy shower on the previous day, Monday was comparatively a hot day with a huge number of people on the streets to witness the Kali Puja pandals in a clear weather. Many stopped by and drank water served by the Lions and Leos.

Along with drinking water, they also served chocolates among the people. Drinking water and chocolates at this point was served more than five hours from 6 PM till 11.45 PM.

Speaking to way2barak, Lion Sumit Das said, “Drinking water was distributed on Monday among more than 2700 passers-by under ‘Serve the Crowd Project.’ Serving drinking water is I believe one of the greatest accomplishment for which I would like to thank each and every member of our club.”

Present there were Project Chairmen Lion Dilip Kar and Lion Trinath Das. President of Leo Club of Silchar Central, Dhriti Sundar Paul was also present there along with his full team.
