Leo Clubs of Zone-III organised mega food drive for the underprivileged

Oct. 29: Durga Puja, 2020 was celebrated amidst a host of restrictions issued by both the state government and Cachar district administration. The guidelines specified that no puja committees can serve cooked food/ prasad among the devotees this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. It is in this backdrop that Leo Club of Silchar Greater & Leo Club of Silchar Centurion came forward with a mega food drive during the 3 days of Durga Puja to feed the disadvantaged lot.

The venture undertaken by Leo Club of Silchar Greater & Leo Club of Silchar Centurion was ably assisted by the other clubs of Zone-III, Leo Club of Silchar Central, Leo Club of Silchar & Leo Club of Silchar Vision under the proper guidance of RC, Leo Tamal Chakraborty. Approximately 1000 packets of cooked Hotch Potch (khichuri) were distributed at different areas of Silchar on Mahasaptami, Mahashtami & Mahanabami among the under privileged maintaining all safety norms.

It was a huge fellowship project where all the members from different Leo Clubs of Zone III met on Saptami for the first time. Many were unknown to each other, but ultimately ended their 2020 puja interacting on that very first day of the project. The project was also graced by the presence of VDP, Leo Abhishek Chakraborty, DDS, Leo Nandini Bhattacharjee, D.O. Health, Leo Abhishek Dey, D.O. IT and Website Maintenance, Leo Kshounish Majumder. The Leos expressed thanks to all the Club Presidents of Zone III for their relentless support for the successful completion of this mega project.
