Leo Club of Silchar donates ₹ 15,747 for flood victims
July 31: Since its very inception, Leo Club of Silchar has been relentlessly striving for being a catalyst of social change. The members of the philanthropic organisation had devoted themselves recently for collecting fund for the flood victims of Assam.They could be seen going from door to door and shop to shop during the past few weeks for collecting donation for helping the people afflicted by the flood. They expressed happiness at the generosity exhibited by the people of this town for this noble cause.
Their hard work yielded them the result and they collected an amount of ₹ 15,747 from individuals and shops of this town as well as donation from its members. Speaking to way2barak, the members of Leo Club of Silchar said, “We heartily thank all the citizens of this town who came forward for the noble cause. As the saying goes ‘Together we can. Together we will,’ similarly we were able to fulfill our dream of standing besides the needy.”
On Wednesday, the members of Leo Club of Silchar handed over the amount to Laya Madduri, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar for sending it to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The Deputy Commissioner also praised the efforts of the Leo’s for the social cause.
President of the Club said, “We are really happy to share with you that on day one we were joined by Leo Hira Paul of Leo club of Karimganj Centurion and on another day our IPP Leo Ketan Singodia joined us and motivated us. We are really grateful to them for joining us and also appreciating our effort.”
