Leo Club of Silchar Central celebrates 63rd International Leo Day

Dec. 7: On December 5, International Leo Day is celebrated to recognise Leo clubs for their service in the community. The Leo Clubs help young people develop valuable leadership skills, network with key players in the community, and realise the impact of their humanitarian efforts. International Leo Day also helps strengthen the relationship between Lions and Leos, encouraging Leos to continue their service as Lions.

It is in this connection that Leo Club of Silchar Central celebrated 63rd International Leo Day on 5 December in a befitting manner. The members of Leo Central distributed 22 blankets among the people who dwell on the streets. The project was sponsored by the members of the club. Leo Bibek Dey, who alone sponsored 5 blankets said, “That feeling is different when we see someone smiling after getting a blanket in such cold weather and when you know that their reason for smiling is you, it is indeed wonderful. We feel very proud serving the society being a Leo.”

Apart from Bibek Dey, the other Leo members who sponsored this project are Biswajit Dutta, Rajdulali Mazumder, Abhishek Chakraborty, Dhriti Sundar Paul, Soumyojit Dhar, Nandini Bhattacharjee, Arjun Kalwar, Joydeep Dutta, Ananya Pandit, Aloka Nath, Amit Banik, Sanjana Paul, Shivayan Deb Roy, Subhadip Roy and Sauvik Mazumder.
