6 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Saturday, 1 death at SMCH

Sept 4: A total of 06 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Saturday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 2,479 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 06 persons were found positive, whereas till the filing of this report, RT-PCR test reports were not made available. It needs mention here that 26 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Friday.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 3 September to 5 PM on 4 September) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Saturday evening. The deceased was identified as:

  • Monara Begum Laskar (60) from Bagpur in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 3 September, 2021. She, however, breathed her last at 12.30 AM on 4 September, 2021.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 4 September, there were 24 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support and 16 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 07 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 08 of them were discharged.
