Landslide at Silchar-Shillong NH-6 cleared, traffic now moving both ways but drivers cautioned

June 6: Due to inclement weather for the past few days in East Jaintia Hills, there has been a minor landslide on NH-06 at Pyrtakuna village this morning around 9 am in the stretch between Kuliang and Umkiang. As a result, in the afternoon, one way movement of traffic was regulated at the landslide site. Efforts were on to clear the landslide by the Meghalaya authorities.

However, towards late afternoon, the landslide on NH-06 at Pyrtakuna connecting Silchar with Shillong that occurred this morning was cleared. Traffic is now moving both ways. All drivers were cautioned by East Jaintia Hills Police to drive carefully and obey traffic rules at all times. For any emergency they were asked to dial 112.
