UPSC Civil Services Exam 2019 declared: 5 from Assam finds place in the list

August 4: Civil Services exam 2019 results have been announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday. Pradeep Singh, son of a farmer and an IRS officer has topped the Civil Services Exam (CSE) 2019. The second rank is secured by Jatin Kishore and Pratibha Verma at Rank 3 is the highest scorer among females. Verma had also cleared the UPSC exam last year and was given a job as an IRS officer.

Assam too carved a niche for itself in the Civil Service Exam, 2019 as five candidates from the state cleared the UPSC. They are Aranyak Saikia, Sizal Agarwal, Nibedita Dutta, Tapan Deka and Kishore Sutradhar. Assam’s Aranyak Saikia, son of former Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia, secured 59th rank in the UPSC 2019 exams. Aranyak, a 2017 batch IPS officer is already serving in Karnataka.

In a tweet, State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “My heartiest congratulations to Assam’s Aranyak Saikia (59 rank), Sizal Agarwal (112 rank), Nivedita Dutta (697 rank), Tapan Deka (766 rank), Kishore Sutradhar (784 rank) and all other youngsters who qualified for the prestigious #CivilServices today. Blessings & wishes.”
