Karimganj Hockey Team Leaves Today for All Assam Inter-District Championship

way2barak, September 10: The Karimganj district hockey team will leave for Nagaon on Thursday morning to participate in the 16th All Assam Senior Men’s Inter-District Hockey Championship, scheduled to be held from September 11 to 15 at the Nurul Amin Stadium, Nagaon.

Emad Uddin, Secretary of the Karimganj Hockey Association has announced a 16-member squad for the prestigious tournament. Aminul Hasan Choudhury has been named captain, while Mukshidul Hasan and Shibom Deb will serve as the two goalkeepers.

The squad comprises Amdadul Islam, Ratul Ahmed, Iqbal Hussain, Jahidul Islam, Abu Hussain, Aridul Islam, Junaidul Islam, Mojammil Hoque, Junaidul Hussain, Abu Kalam, Abu Tayyeb Mohammad Imran, Ashraful Islam Laskar and Syed Tasif Hasan.

Sabir Ahmed Laskar has been appointed manager of the team, with Anwar Hussain as coach. Karimganj will begin its campaign on September 11, facing Lakhimpur in their opening match in the morning.

The team will depart from Badarpur on Thursday morning for Nagaon to take part in the championship. Silchar Team will face Udalguri in theie first match in the tournament. They will also depart for Nagaon on Thursday aftenoon.
