Jononi NGO gives food stuff to needy during lockdown in Cachar’s Derby GP

May 31: In the wake of Covid-19 lockdown, a group of young volunteers fromed an NGO,”Jononi.”  The members of the NGO distributed cooked meals to the needy people including daily wage labourers,tea garden workers, elderly people Alienpur Tea Garden LP School under Derby Gaon Panchayat of Cachar’s Dholai Constituency on Saturday.

The cooked food was distributed maintaining the norms of social distancing. Snehal Chakraborty, a founder member of Jononi NGO said, “We offered ‘khichdi’ to approximately 750 daily wagers including daily Garden workers, and contract labourers and street vendors.” Also present during the food distribution were Siddhartha Choudhury, Bishal Nath, Akash Yadav, Ranbir Chakraborty and AP Member Monoj Sahu.
