Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen terrorist from Bangladesh arrested from West Bengal by NIA

Nov. 2: A Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terrorist was arrested by National investigation Agency (NIA) from West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas. The arrest of accused Mohammed Abdul Mannan Bachu was made during a search operation in West Bengal on Tuesday. Bachu belongs to Bangila Chadshi in Bangladesh’s Barisal.

The search led to the recovery of electronic devices, fake Indian voter ID cards, Aadhaar Cards and incriminating documents for illegal acquisition of Indian identity by Bangladeshi nationals. The case relates to the conspiracy of online radicalisation and recruitment of vulnerable Muslim youths by the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB)/Al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) in India and Bangladesh, the official of the premier investigation agency (NIA) said.
