Shameful ! Leader like Himanta shared unverified video, says Sushmita

Nov. 7: Social media giant Facebook on Saturday affixed the label of “False Information” on the video post made by Himanta Biswa Sarma as regards the controversial ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan at Silchar Airport. The social media giant further wrote on the post, “Independent fact-checkers say that this information has no basis in fact.”

Taking a dig at BJP heavyweight Himanta Biswa Sarma, President of All India Mahila Congress & former Silchar MP Sushmita Dev on Saturday said, “It’s indeed very shameful that a senior leader like that of Himanta Biswa Sarma could post in social media a video without verifying it’s contents. He should seek apology for that.”

She further said that, “Himanta Biswa Sarma has got no reply as to why he is not giving employment in the Health Department in Barak Valley, why the paper mill is not revived or why people have suffered so much during the peak corona phase. That’s why they are now busy uttering communal language. We will not have learn lessons in patriotism from RSS and Himanta Biswa Sarma.”

She finally spoke a word of caution and said, “Beware! Elections are knocking at the doors. Stay careful from BJP. They have deceived the people and so today they have become bound to take shelter in lies.”

A huge controversy have surfaced with allegations of “Pakistan zindabad” slogan by some supporters of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) at Silchar Airport on Thursday while greeting party chief and MP Maulana Badruddin Ajmal. The incident have triggered protests across Assam and multiple FIR’s were lodged including one by Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy. The AIUDF, has, however, denied the allegation and said that party supporters raised the slogan of Aziz Khan Jindabad” (AIUDF MLA of South Karimganj) and not “Pakistan Zindabad” as claimed.
