International Firefighters’ Day Observed in Government Model College, Borkhola

Way2barak, May 4 : Government Model College, Borkhola celebrated the International Firefighters’ Day on Thursday. Disaster Management Cell of the College organized a Fire-Safety Awareness cum Training Programme on 4th May 2023 in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).

The programme was started with the Introduction by Usha Kumari Shah, Assistant Professor of English Department who is also the Convenor of the cell. Introduction was followed by felicitation of the guests by Sanchuma Goyary, Assistant Professor of Political Science Department and Dr. Joydeep Goswami, Assistant Professors of Sociology Department. It was followed by the welcome address by the Principal of the college Dr. Shahabuddin Ahmed.

The Chief Guest Sri Ranabijoy Das, F.O. (DM), DDMA, Cachar presented a power point deliberation on fire- safety. The main attraction of the programme was a demonstration cum mock drill on Fire-Safety given by a team of 6 firefighters from Fire and Emergency Service Station, Silchar. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dikhya Dey, Assistant Professor of Education Department.
