Inner Wheel felicitates ‘Mothers’ as 1st ‘Teachers’ of children

September 10: In a unique way Inner Wheel Club, Silchar celebrated Teachers’ Day on 9 September in the premises of Rotary Club, Silchar. The celebration was unique in the sense that instead of teachers, the Inner Wheel Club members honoured their own mothers, whom they regarded as ‘the first and most significant teachers of their lives.’

Jhumki Saha, the President of Inner Wheel Club, Silchar requested the club members to invite their mother’s who are at present in the town. A total of 10 such mothers attended this unique programme. Some games were arranged wherein the mother’s along with their daughter-members participated.

Speaking to way2barak, Jhumki Saha said, “The smile in face of our mothers while they were playing games worth million dollars for us all. I would like to thank all our club members for their whole-hearted cooperation. I wish we find our mothers beside us for long days to come.” Similar feelings were also expressed by Ankita Ghosh, the Secretary of the club. District Chairman of Inner Wheel Sumita Som also graced the occasion.

Further, some teacher members of Inner Wheel Club were also invited during the celebration, who were felicitated.
