Inner Wheel Club organises free health camp in their adopted village at Atalbasti

November 18: One after another, Inner Wheel Club of Silchar is marching ahead with their philanthropic activities. Once again, on Sunday,Inner Wheel Club organised health camp in their adopted village at Atalbasti in Ghungoor Gaon Panchayat.

Renowned medicine specialist of this valley Dr. Bablu Banik examined 120 patients. Dr Kiranmoy Das, an eminent gynecologist of this region also examined 30 patients. Later on, free medicines were also distributed among the patients.Samujjal Bhattacharjee assisted the doctors in the camp.

Speaking to way2barak, a daily wage labourer residing at Atalbasti village said, “We are inded very grateful to Inner Wheel Club. A few days ago, they have repaired our well which was lying in a dormant state since the last few years. We the villagers are now able to drink pure water from the well. Today also, they came to our village with doctors.who examined people residing here. They also gave us free medicines. We thank them from the core of our heart.”

Another old lady came forward and proclaimed loudly, “These ladies are doing what actually the government was supposed to do. Politicians come to us during elections with tall promises, but vanishes once they get elected. But look at these ladies. They are our real well-wishers. They are here without any ulterior motive. They have come to help us. We are thankful to them.”

Expressing her views, Jhumki Saha, President of Inner Wheel Club of Silchar said, “This project of our club has definitely brought smiles to hundreds of faces in the Atalbasti village of Ghungoor G.P which is adopted by our club. We hope to do similar projects in the near future also. I am thankful to all who cooperated in organising this health camp.”

Apart from Jhumki Saha, also present during the camp were Sampa Banik, Madhuparna Basak, Kalita Ghosh, Sagarika Saha, Sutapa Bhattacharjee, Mohul Mitra, Sangeeta Roy Banik, Moutushi Roy and Moumita Gupta.
