Inner Wheel Club distributes clothes, masks & eatables among inmates of Silchar Jail

Nov. 26: The members of Inner Wheel Club of Silchar of District 324 continued with their philanthropic activities. Their destination on Wednesday was Silchar Central Jail. The members of Inner Wheel with a view to spread smiles among the prisoners undertook this task of visiting the jail.

Inner Wheel Club of Silchar visited Silchar Central Jail on Wednesday afternoon and distributed clothes, eatables among the female inmates and their children. The members of the club distributed sweaters and shoes amongst 30 children lodged inside the jail. Further, around 50 female inmates were given shawls. The members of Inner Wheel Club of Silchar also distributed 300 masks. They also gave away Biscuits among them.

Speaking to way2barak, Sutapa Bhattacharjee, President of Inner Wheel Club of Silchar said, “We have distributed, sweaters, shoes, shawls, masks and biscuits among the female inmates of Silchar Central Jail and their children. We pray and hope that all those inside will reform themselves and come out after completion of their term and lead a healthy normal life. We also felicitated the Jailor and lady inspector with memento and gifts.”

Apart from the Club President Sutapa Bhattacharjee, the other members of Inner Wheel Club who visited the Silchar Central Jail are Secretary of IWC Silchar Shilpi Ghosh, Sushmita Choudhury and Sampa Banik.
