Indian users now given option by Goggle to auto delete OTPs after 24 hours
June 29: Google on Tuesday announced two new features for the Messages app for its users residing in India. It said that users will now have the option to automatically delete one-time passwords (OTPs) 24-hours after they are received. To enable it, just tap continue when you see the suggestion prompt to confirm your selection.
Google will also begin automatically sorting users’ messages into categories such as personal, transactions, OTPs, and offers. Bank transactions and bills will be filtered into the transactions tab, while conversations with saved numbers can be easily located in the personal tab. “All of this happens safely on your device so your conversations stay in the app and you can access your categorized messages offline,” the company said. These features are optional and can be managed in settings.
