India secure thumping 71-run win vs Zimbabwe; to face England in semi-final on 10 Nov
way2barak, Nov.6: India on Sunday completed a big win over Zimbabwe to top the Group 2 table. table. Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged as the Player of the Match for scoring 61 (not out) our of only 25 balls. After Suryakumar Yadav scored 61(25 balls) against Zimbabwe on Sunday, India head coach Rahul Dravid said the 32-year-old batter has been “absolutely phenomenal” for the side.
Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul scored blistering half-centuries as India posted 186 for five in their last Group 2 match. In reply, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 115 in 17.2 overs. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed after making 15, but Rahul carried on to score a 35-ball 51. Suryakumar then blasted an unbeaten 61 from 25 balls to prop up India. Among India bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin was the most successful with three wickets.

Ex-India captain Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in T20 World Cup 2022 so far with 246 runs in five innings. He’s followed by Netherlands’ Max O’Dowd, who scored 242 runs in eight innings. India’s Suryakumar Yadav is third on the list with 225 runs, while Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis is fourth on the list with 223 runs.
Sri Lanka spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is the highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup 2022 after Super 12 stage. Hasaranga took 15 wickets in eight matches for Sri Lanka, who’ve been eliminated in Super 12 stage. Hasaranga is followed by Netherlands’ Bas de Leede (13), Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani (12). Arshdeep Singh is India’s highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets so far.
