India registers biggest one-day spike of 75,760 cases of COVID-19, 1023 deaths

August 27: The number of COVID-19 cases in India are now increasing at an alarming rate. India has reported 75,760 cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, marking the biggest daily rise in the country. According to Union health ministry update, fresh cases have pushed the country’s coronavirus tally to over 33.1 lakh cases.

The number of active cases in the country are 7,25,991, while 25,23,771 patients have been discharged. The country also recorded 1,023 fatalities in the last 24 hours which pushed the death toll to 60,472, according to health ministry data. The recovery rate has now reached 76.24 percent. India is the country with the third-highest coronavirus caseload in the world after the United States and Brazil.
