Illustrious educational institution Ramanuj Gupta Jr College steps into Silver Jubilee Year

way2barak, Nov.11: Ramanuj Gupta Memorial Charitable Trust and its flagship institution “Ramanuj Gupta Junior College” (presently Ramanuj Gupta Senior Secondary School) are going to step into the Silver Jubilee Year. 13th November, 2022 would mark the inaugural ceremony of the yearlong Silver Jubilee Celebration with a grand rally. The rally will start from the campus of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, Silchar at 7 AM and shall culminate in DSA, Silchar at 9 AM. DC Cachar Rohan Kr Jha will flag off the rally. This was informed by Rudra Narayan Gupta, President of Ramanuj Gupta Memorial Charitable Trust in a press meet organised at Ramanuj Gupta Junior College (RGJC) on Friday.

Apart from Rudra Narayan Gupta, also present during the press briefing were- Purnadip Chanda, Principal of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, Sarodindu Dhar (Badal)- Administrative Officer of RGJC, Dr Anjana Bhattacharjee- Principal of Ramanuj Gupta Degree College and Diptiman Biswas- Principal of Ramanuj Vidyamandir.

Rudra Narayan Gupta, President of Ramanuj Gupta Memorial Charitable Trust said, “The inaugural rally on 13 November will be followed by a grand ceremony at Rajiv Bhawan on 14 November. The programme will begin at 2 PM and will comprise of felicitation of past and present teachers of RGJC, guardians whose wards studied in the 1st batch, students who carved a niche for the institution and others who stood like a rock behind the founder Dr Rahul Gupta during the established of the college. This session will be graced by Parimal Suklabaidya, Minister of Transport, Excise & Fisheries, Government of Assam and Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy. The stage will be dedicated in the fond memory of Late Biswajit Ghosh, the mathematics wizard who lost his life a few months ago in a road mishap.”

“Ramanuj began its humble journey with the well wishes and blessings from society at large and the relentless effort of the dedicated staff helped to materialise the dreams as well as aspirations with which we started our noble venture and shaped the institute as one of the reputed institutions in the academic map of not only Barak Valley but entire Assam as well. Over the last 24 years, many parents/ guardians, students. educationists and well-wishers kept faith in our noble mission. We express our gratefulness for their unwavering support for the institution. We await in eager anticipation of the the august company of those who are a part and parcel of the extended family of Ramanuj. The parents who lost their son at such an early age found solace when they used to see young boys & girls coming to study in Ramanuj wearing uniform. The Secretary of the Trust, that is, my mother, Nandita Gupta lost one of her sons but in return today is the mother of thousands of Ramanujians. What could be more soothing to a mother than this?” added Rudra Narayan Gupta.

Rudra Gupta further stated that, “The journey which began in 1998 with just 30 students (1st batch) is now marching ahead in its truest stride. It’s Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, which as a pioneer in the private sector of 10+2 studies in Barak Valley introduced the concept of Students uniform for the 1st time. Also, it is Ramanuj College, thar for the first time introduced the concept of weekly test, which is one of the key to the success of the Institution. As of now, since the foundation of the college, a total of 46 students have secured rank in the HS Final Examination conducted by Assam higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). Further, 3 students till now has secured the 1st position in the state. They are: Rajdeep Das (1st rank in Science), Samkhya Chakraborty (1st Rank in Science) and Jugal Kishore Rathi (1st Rank in Commerce). In the last 24 years, around 10,000 students successfully passed out from this institution. From our database we have unearthed that till now, around 1000 students have been employed in many places as Engineers; we have around 300 doctors now who are Ramnujanians and also a huge number of students employed in administrative jobs around the world.”

Sarodindu Dhar (Badal)- Administrative Officer of RGJC who joined Ramanuj after his retirement from GC College, Silchar. He said, “We do not imitate others. Rather, we believe in innovation. Ramanuj Gupta Jr College has set a trend and a benchmark, which is the main mantra behind the success of this college. The manner in which we maintain discipline is the key to our success.”

Purnadip Chanda, Principal of Ramanuj Gupta Jr College and Dr Anjana Bhattacharjee- Principal of Ramanuj Gupta Degree College also gave a detailed description of the various programmes which would be showcased on the 14th of November at Rajiv Bhawan. They informed that those former students who have with them old video clips were asked to send these and on 14 Nov, the college will make a collage of these videos and display them. Principal Chanda said, “As the seats at Rajiv Bhawan are limited, so the college will live stream the programme from their official Facebook Page. We have also requested popular web portal way2barak.com to livestream the programme.”

Expressing his views, Diptiman Biswas, Principal of Ramanuj Vidyamandir said, “I feel proud to say that Ramanuj Gupta Jr College has stepped into the 25th year of its establishment. The college has indeed felt its presence felt in the academic map of the state.”

It needs mention here that Ramanuj Gupta Memorial Charitable Trust established in 1998 has 3 institutions under its aegis. These are: Ramanuj Gupta Junior College (Estd in 1998), Ramanuj Vidyamandir (Estd in 2001) and Ramanuj Gupta Degree College (Estd in 2017).
