Bharat Bandh has partial impact in Hailakandi

Dec. 8: In view of proposed All-India strike by various Trade Unions on Tuesday, the Hailakandi district administration had beefed up security measures in the district. The impact of the bandh in Hailakandi was partial. Many shops and business establishments in the district were found open. However, plying of vehicles on the road was very minimum. Pabindra Kumar Nath, Superintendent of Police, Hailakandi informed that a total of 124 picketers were arrested during the bandh, but were later on released on PR bond.
