If alumni doesn’t come forward no institution can prosper: CM Assam

Jan. 1: The development of an educational institution largely depends on the role played by the alumni. If the former students does not come forward, no institution can prosper and thrive. This was stated by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma during a special interactive session with Assam’s journalists at State Guest House, Koinadhora, Guwahati on Saturday.

The chief minister stated, “I have also emphasised this fact during my last Independence Day address. Alumni plays a major role in the development of an educational institution.” He said that the Assam government has invested huge amount of money for infrastructural development of educational institutions. But he added that real development cannot take place if the former pupils do not take interest in the growth of his/her alma-mater. The Chief Minister said this while replying to a journalists question of devising ways and means to promote Assamese medium schools in the state.
