Highest single day rise of COVID-19 cases in Assam, total jumps up to 135
88 active cases in Assam
May 19: Tuesday saw the highest single day rise in the number of coronavirus positive cases. At 11.05 AM, Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted information of six new COVID-19 cases confirmed. Within a hour, the minister again confirmed the detection of 14 new positive cases. That means on Tuesday morning, a total of 20 positive cases were reported in Assam. The COVID-19 positive cases were detected from the following places:
- 2 from Jorhat (1 came from Chennai & other from Darjeeling)
- 2 from Golaghat
- 1 from Kokrajhar
- 1 from Nagaon
- 7 from Kamrup
- 2 from Hojai
- 2 from Biswanath
- 1 from Nagaon
- 2 from Nalbari
Sharing this information, the state Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma further urged upon the people, “Please #StayAtHome as much as possible and follow all instructions.”
That means at present, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Assam has gone up to 135. Out of 135 patienrs, 41 were already discharged, 4 of them died, while 2 were migrated. There are 88 active cases now in Assam.
