Heavy rainfall predicted in Assam & other Northeastern states during next 2 days
Oct. 31: Once again, isolated heavy rainfall with moderate thunderstorms and lightning is likely to hit the northeastern states during the next two days. The weather forecast made by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in its bulletin stated that in Assam too rainfall will be witnessed from Saturday, which may last till Sunday night.
A low pressure area lies over East central Bay of Bengal off Myanmar coast and associated cyclonic circulation extends upto mid tropospheric levels. This system is likely to move towards Bangladesh coast during next 48 hours, stated Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in a tweet on Saturday.
i) Scattered to widespread rainfall very likely over Andaman & Nicobar islands and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and isolated to scattered rainfall activity over Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal & Sikkim during next 3-4 days.

IMD further tweeted that, “A trough runs from the cyclonic circulation associated with the this low pressure area to Bangladesh across northeast Bay of Bengal in lower tropospheric levels.” As a result, scattered to widespread rainfall very likely over Andaman & Nicobar islands and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and isolated to scattered rainfall activity over Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal & Sikkim during next 3-4 days.
