Hailakandi records 68 COVID-19 positive cases, total goes upto 710
This is the second highest spike in the district
July 18: Another 68 more COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Saturday, taking the total tally to 710. This is the second highest spike in the district. Health authorities here disclosed that six more police personnel and four more employees of DC’s establishment have been afflicted with the disease. As many as 10 positive cases have been detected in ward numbers 15 and 7 under Hailakandi municipal areas.
27 persons on being cured have been discharged from hospitals on Saturday, taking the total number of persons released to 405. The number of active cases in the district is presently 303.Under the Rapid Antigen Test, 34 persons were detected COVID-19 positive. Two COVID-19 positive patients viz., Mangoli Rani Das, 53, and Foijul Hague Barbhuiya, 65, breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
312 persons are under facility quarantine centres while 5,992 persons under home quarantine. Of the 12,620 swab samples taken, 10,705 turned out to be negative. Swab results of 396 persons are awaited.
