Patient brought back from Airport to SMCH
June 1: Everything happened as per the plan. Green corridor was also arranged on Tuesday afternoon as per the prior permission of the administration. The patient was moved out of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) in an ambulance which went away rapidly through the Green Corridor and reached Silchar Airport at the stipulated time, where an air ambulance was already waiting to fly the patient to AMRI Bhubaneswar. But then the accompanying doctor in the air ambulance on examining the patient informed that he is not in a condition to fly. Finally, understanding the risks and obliging to the doctor who accompanied the air ambulance, the patient was brought back to SMCH.
As per reports, Pratham Kumar Mishra (68), Manager of Dery Tea Estate was detected as Covid positive. However, after a few days, he tested negative. But since then, he came into the grip of post-Covid complications. He developed severe lungs infection. He was admitted in the ICU at SMCH. Mr Mishra hails from Odisha. His daughter wanted to fly her father in an air ambulance at Bhubaneswar for treatment. Air ambulance, green corridor- everything was arranged, but ultimately the patient could not be taken to Bhubaneswar.
Though the district administration granted permission and issued orders for creation of green corridor on the basis of the application made by the daughter of the patient, but it was also clearly stated that the condition of the patient may deteriorate if he is taken out of the ICU.
