GP block in which 100% vaccination will be done by 10 Oct to be rewarded by Zila Parishad
Cachar DC urges GP presidents to become stakeholders in developmental programme
Oct. 1: District Administration Cachar held a meeting with the Gaon Presidents of the district at the conference hall of DRDA here on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli urged upon all Panchayat Raj institutions, Block Development Officers and GP Secretaries of the district to ensure 100 percent vaccination under their jurisdiction before upcoming Durga Puja i,e before 10 October.
“Our Health Department is trying their best to cover everyone before Durga Puja but public needs to come forward,” said DC Jalli while appreciating GP president of Arkatipur for achieving 95 percent vaccination. She also requested all PRIs to mobilise public for enrolling themselves under Aadhar card before December,2021 as some Govt schemes subscription requires Aadhar card. There is no age bar for applying for Aadhar card and hence entire family can get the requisite cards. She thanked them for offering GP offices as Aadhar centres.
Executive Engineer PHE spoke on necessity of community adoption to ensure success of JJM schemes. DC suggested PHE engineers to visit all the schemes of Jal Jiban Mission under Kalain Development Block along with the site engineers based on complaints received from GP president. Chief Executive Officer , Cachar Zilla Parishad, Eldad Lalthakum Faihriem explained at length about the role of PRIs in the rural development programs and mentioned that the PRIs play a vital role in successful implementation of schemes.
GP, block in which 100 percent vaccination will be covered before 10 October will be rewarded by Zilla Parishad. Blocks that complete first will also be accordingly awarded. It was further stated that all government schemes for individual benefit, ration, pension shall be put on hold for those who have not vaccinated yet. In the meeting, ADC Sadhan Sarkar briefed the house on Mission Basundhara. He requested them to spread the word to take up mutation, partition, separation issues at the earliest to ensure land records are updated for benefit of all.
ADC Sadhan Sarkar in his address mentioned that using this digital platform people will get all the benefits like ‘Naam Jari’, ‘Dalil Naan Jari’, ‘partition’, ‘digitisation of the land records’ etc.by submitting application to the circle officers. It is worth mentioning that the Digital platform ‘Basundhara’ will be launched by the Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on 2 October.
DC Cachar Keerthi Jalli requested all the members and officials to make mass awareness of this campaign of digital platform under their jurisdiction. It was also discussed in the meeting that NABARD is trying to implement on community tank in every revenue villages but due to lack of khas land it is not possible. District Fishery Development Officer requested all PRIs to arrange for 10 bighas of community owned land in their revenue villages for implementation of the scheme. It was further discussed that as per 15th FC guidelines, tied funds may be utilised for providing drinking water, toilets, drainage etc. in this regard.
Deputy Commissioner Cachar requested to all GPs and APs to take necessary action to include construction of toilets under 15th FC in all government institutions like schools, Anganwadi centers, health centers, circle offices etc. with special emphasis on ladies toilets. GP offices to be strengthened with Conference Hall/ Community Hall along with separate toilets for men and women. Under untied fund, request was made to include building of AWC as most of them are running in rented accommodation.
It was informed by the District Social Welfare officer that the department is trying to construct new ICDS, AWCs but due to non availability of lands it is not possible to construct. In the meeting all PRIs were requested to inform the department if anyone is willing to donate land. In this regard, GP president , Dudpatil extended her helping hand towards donating a land for the construction of Anganwadi center in Dudpatil Part IV.
The meeting was also attended by Jt.DHS Debdulal Das, Assistant Executive Engineer PHE, Division II, Krishna Kanta Sinha, Assistant Engineer, PHE Division II, Inspector of Schools Cachar, Semina Yasmin Ara Rahman, District fishery development officer, Rafiqul Haque and District Social welfare Officer Cachar, Saswati Som.
