Gauri Shankar Birth Centenary Celebration Committee distributes food items among slum children

July 1: Gauri Shankar Birth Centenary Celebration Committee organised its 11th monthly programme on Monday as part of its year long celebration from 12 July, 2019 to 12 July, 2020. The members of the committee distributed horlicks, biscuits, cake, fruits and snacks among hundred children of different slum areas of Silchar. They organised the food distribution programme at the slum area of Greater Malugram. They also distributed face masks among the children in order to create awareness as regards COVID-19.

Present during the occasion were Sanjeev Roy, General Secretary of the committee, Nanda Roy, Bandita Trivedi, Subham Roy, Gaurav Roy, Prosonno Das, Dinesh Kahar among others.

The last and the concluding 12th program in this connection will take place at Vernerpur (under Katlicherra Constituency), which is the birth place of Late Gauri Shankar Roy. There a programme on reminiscence of Late Gauri Shankar roy will be organised among the local residents. On 6 October, 2020, a souvenir will be published depicting the life history of Late Roy and will also contain the various activities undertaken during the year long birth centenary celebration.
