Gauri Sankar Roy Birth Centenary Celebration Committee distributes blankets among the poor

October 30: Gauri Sankar Roy Birth Centenary Celebration Committee distributed 100 blankets among the poor and needy persons of the society at Itkhola on Tuesday. This is the fourth consecutive monthly programme of the committee , as per one year long programme taken up from 12 July 2019 to 12 July, 2020.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony in which blankets were handed over was renowned journalist Tamojit Bhattacharjee, who is also the Vice President of the Late Gauri Sankar Roy Birth Centenary Celebration Committee. The other dignitaries present during the ceremony were Rajendra Roy (Advisor), Pradip Kr Roy (Vice President), Babul Narayan Kanu (Advisor), Durgesh Kurmi (Advisor) and Brijbhan Singh (Member).

The programme was compered by Sanjeev Roy, General Secretary of the Celebration Committee in presence of the other family members of Late Gauri Sankar Roy. The family members who graced the occasion were Usha Roy, Nanda Roy, Bandita Trivedi Roy, Subham Roy, Upashana Roy, Gaurav Roy and Sanjiban Roy.

It needs mention here that Late Gauri Sankar Roy was a renowned freedom fighter, four times MLA from Katlicherra constituency and founder member and President of Barak Cha Shramik Union.
