Gamblers on police radar this Diwali; Assam Police gives strict warning

Nov. 2: The festive season is in its highest peak. During Diwali and Kali Puja, along with festivities,various other illegal activities like gambling also becomes rampant. To pull the brakes, GP Singh, Special DGP L&O, Director V&AC & Chief Anti-Rhino Poaching Task Force, Assam warned against gambling activities in the state. He also urged upon the public to cooperate with the cops by providing specific inputs as regards organised gambling activities.

Taking to his twitter handle on Tuesday, Assam Special DGP GP Singh wrote, “Next few days would see attempts at organised gambling activities including amongst well to do people. People may inform of any such credible information of organised gambling activity to local Assam Police unit or Inbox me to allow action to be taken.”
