G.C. College to organise International Seminar on 27-28 December

December 23: Colleges now organise National Seminars off and on. But a very few number of International Seminars are organised at the college level, especially in this part of the country. This rare but prestigious endeavour has now been undertaken by Gurucharan College (G.C. College), Silchar, one of the premier educational institutions of this region.

The Department of English of G.C. College in collaboration with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS) will be hosting a two-day International conference on “Traditions of Cultural production in North East India” on 27 and 28 December, 2018 at the college premises. Reputed scholars from the country as well as from abroad will take part in this International Conference. This was informed by Dr. Panthapriya Dhar, Head, Department of English in a Press Meet organised by them on last Friday.

Dr. Dhar further said that renowned academicians like Kailash Chandra Baral, Prof. Dipendu Das, Kathrine Widew, J. Veti among others will usher light upon the traditions of cultural production by their scholarly presentations. Meanwhile, the organisers have received warm response from scholars of repute, who will be presenting research based papers on the topic. Around 60 participants will share their know-how during the seminar. Also present during the press meet were Dr. Vandana Thousen, Dr. Arjun Chaudhury and other faculty members.

The organisers of this International Conference appealed to all to be a part of this unique academic endeavour and make it a grand success.
