way2barak, June 1: District Commissioner Mridul Yadav has issued a firm directive to all stakeholders for the smooth and time-bound implementation of the Assam Government’s Special Anna Sewa Din under the National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA).
As per the Assam Government’s latest initiative, all NFSA beneficiaries across Cachar ,encompassing both Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH) categories are entitled to receive free rice for the months of June, July, and August 2025. The entire quantity will be distributed in one go from June 1 to June 20, through the respective Fair Price Shops (FPS) in every locality.
Strict guidelines have been issued to ensure that the distribution process remains efficient, transparent, and accountable. Emphasizing the use of electronic Point of Sale (e-POS) systems, the DC has directed officials to guarantee that each beneficiary authenticates their identity three separate times, once for each month and obtains individual receipts for every month’s quota.
Each AAY household will receive a total of 105 kg of rice (35 kg/month), while PHH beneficiaries will get 15 kg per member (5 kg/month) for the three-month period.
DC Yadav has urged the public to act responsibly and collect their entitled allotment during the notified period. He reassured that any grievance regarding non-receipt or discrepancies in rice distribution will be promptly addressed through the district helplines: 1800-345-3611 and 1967, operational daily from 9 AM to 6 PM.
While issuing an official notice on saturday, DC Mridul Yadav said, “This Special Anna Sewa Din initiative reflects the Assam Government’s deep commitment to ensure that beneficiaries under this scheme get their alloted rice from their respective fair price shop without any hindrance.
