Free Mammography for Seniors Until March 2025 in Silchar Cancer Centre

way2barak, August 6 : The Silchar Cancer Centre has announced a major expansion of its healthcare services, offering comprehensive OPD consultations and state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities under the leadership of Medical Superintendent, Col (Dr) Biswajit Ghosh (Retd).

In a significant boost to cancer care, the Centre now provides specialized OPD consultations in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Interventional Radiology. Newly added diagnostic services include MRI, CT Scan, USG, Digital X-Ray, and Mammography. Of special note, Mammography will be available free of charge to senior citizens aged 60 and above until March 31, 2025.

The Centre’s laboratory services now cover a wide range of tests, such as Hematology, Biochemistry, Cytology, and Tumor Marker/Hormone Assays. Additionally, PMJAY facilities are available for Day Care patients, with special subsidized rates for BPL cardholders.

Looking ahead, the Centre is set to launch Radiation Therapy and Surgical Oncology services by September 2024, along with PET-CT facilities by October 2024. A Blood Centre will also be operational soon, further strengthening the Centre’s commitment to delivering top-tier cancer care to the community.
