Four children killed by speeding car in Dhubri
way2barak, Oct 11: Four children were mowed down by a speeding SUV in Assam’s Dhubri district on Friday.
Dhubri Superintendent of Police Navin Singh told media that the sports utility vehicle (SUV) hit the four kids early in the morning when they were strolling near their home adjacent to National Highway 17 in Golakganj.
“We have arrested the culprit driving the SUV at a high speed,” he said.
The victims have been identified as Maryam Khatun (10), Zubair Hussain (7), Mehdi Hassan (5), and Abu Rihan (40 days).
As per information from officials, the driver of the car, Bishal Agarwal, resident of Dhubri has been apprehended by the police along with his car.
Unfortunately, the 40-days old child succumbed to injuries while en-route to the Dhubri Medical College.
