Former CM Tarun Gogoi gets cured, tests negative

Sept. 17: Former Chief Minister of Assam and veteran Congress leader Tarun Gogoi recovered from COVID-19. His test results came negative. Tarun Gogoi tested COVID-19 positive on 26 August and was admitted at Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH). A team of 9 doctors under the Chairmanship of Dr Jogesh Sarma, HOD, Pulmonary Medicine Department of Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) has been constituted to monitor the health status of Tarun Gogoi, former Chief Minister of Assam.

However, Gogoi will not be discharged now and will be under treatment at GMCH for a few more days. Debashree Bora, National General Secretary of NSUI tweeted, “Fighter is back! Happy to share @ tarun gogoi sir is tested negative for #CoronaVirus.” The octogenarian Gogoi was also administered plasma therapy when his condition deteriorated on 31 August.  However, after that his condition became stable.
