Fisheries department to observe 21st National Fish Farmers’ Day centrally at Raha
Fish Seed Multiplication Centre with induced breeding will also be inaugurated
July 7: The State Fisheries department has lined up a number of programmes to observe the 21st National Fish Farmers’ Day 2021 in a befitting manner on July 10. Fisheries Development Officer attached to Fisheries Minister, Pratul Deka disclosed that the day will be observed centrally at Jungal Balahu Fish Farm at Raha in Nagaon district on Saturday.
Minister for Fisheries, Parimal Suklabaidya will attend the event while Director of Fisheries, NK Devnath, Deputy Director of Fisheries, JP Medhi, MD, FISHFED, Dr.DJ Sarma, DFDO, Nagaon, Dr.RC Barman and all Fisheries Development Officers and Fisheries Demonstrators will be present.
The programme will kick off with plantation of saplings followed by distribution of chital fish fingerlings and jayanti rohu spawn to the progressive fish farmers. Felicitation will be accorded to those fish farmers who have contributed immensely to the development of the fisheries sector.
A Fish Seed Multiplication Centre with induced breeding constructed at a cost of Rs.62.45 lakh under APART will be inaugurated by Suklabaidya.
