First Vigyan Pratibha Northeast Professional development Workshop for Mathematics and Science Teachers

way2barak, Feb 1: The Vigyan Pratibha Project, a project of Homi Bhabha Centre for science Education, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, funded by Dept. of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India aims to create spaces within the school systems in India where students of diverse abilities as well as under-served backgrounds can nurture their talent in science and mathematics. As a part of the project, Vigayn Pratibha IISER Kolkata is organizing the First Vigyan Pratibha Northeast professional development Workshop for mathematics and science teachers from the Northeastern state of the country at Assam University, Silchar from 2nd February 2026 to 6th February 2026 under the supervision of Prof. Anindita Bhadra, Coordinator, Vigyan Pratibha in Collaboration with Dr. Utpal Sarkar, Associate professor, Dept. of Physics, Assam University, Silchar. Around 75 Teachers deputed at different states of northeast from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and teachers from Assam state board will be participating in the week-long workshop to get an exposure to the Vigyan Pratibha Learning units and associated pedagogies. Eminent Professors and educators from institutes of high repute including IISER Kolkata, HBCSE-TIFR Mumbai, IMSc Chennai, IIT Kharagpur, SINP Kolkata, and esteemed Professors from Assam University have kindly agreed to join us as resource persons in the workshop.
