First PMAY-CLSS scheme kick starts in Silchar; 192 residential flats to be built
Feb. 21: In a significant development, the first PMAY-CLSS scheme of Assam kick started at Budiurail area of Silchar in Cachar district on Sunday. During the day, the Bhoomi Puja was performed and the foundation stone was laid by Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy in presence of MLA Dilip Kumar Paul, Kishore Nath and other dignitaries. A total of 192 residential flats will be developed by Advantage Reality for lower and mid income group to fulfill the dreams of ‘Housing For All.’ Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) is one of the components under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(Urban) (PMAY-U) wherein the Government offers interest subsidy to eligible beneficiaries.
As per reports, each flat for the middle and lo-income group will cost around Rs.20 lakh. The Credit Linked Subsidy is central sector scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana -PMAY (Urban) wherein interest subsidy on home loan is provided through CNAs and PLIs to the EWS/LIG/ MIG beneficiaries for purchase, construction or enhancement of house.

MoHUA, has identified Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO), National Housing Bank (NHB) and State Bank of India (SBI) as Central Nodal Agencies (CNAs) to channelize the loan amount subsidy to the Primary Lending Institutions (PLIs) and for monitoring the progress of CLSS vertical. MoHUA may notify other institutions as CNA in future.
