Fire breaks out in a transformer near Green Heals at Meherpur

April 13: Panic broke out when fire was spotted in a transformer just adjacent to Green Heals Nursing Home at Meherpur. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon. At once a hue and cry was raised. Fire service was also informed at 2.07 PM. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Meanwhile people could be seen in a tensed condition looking the the windows of Green Heals. Local people also gathered there in huge number.

The fire tenders brought the fire under control. However, in the meantime, sparks of fire fell down on the parked two-wheeler’s beneath the transformer and were damaged.  The power supply of the area was severed. As per sources in the Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd. (APDCL), it was learnt that it may take some time to restore power supply in the area.
