Final phase Training: Laya Madduri inspects training venue, asks question to poll parties

April 12: The third and final phase of training of poll parties at Cachar is going on at Government Girls HS School and Narshing HS School Silchar. Laya Madduri, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar came to inspect the training venues at both the schools, wherein training of Presiding officers and polling staff was going on. The Deputy Commissioner went around all the training halls and also listened to the deliberation of the Assembly Level Master Trainers.

Laya Madduri also tested the know-how of the poll parties and asked basic questions on the poll procedure and functioning of EVM/VVPAT. She instructed the Master Trainers to brief them in details about every instruction given by the Election Commission of India so that there arises no difficulty on the part of the poll party in conducting the polls smoothly.

The third and final phase of training of poll parties began on 8 April and will continue till 12 April, 2019. Many Presiding Officers and Polling Staff expressed satisfaction to the fact that the Deputy Commissioner took keen interest in the training process and interacted with them.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Sumitra Deb, District Elementary Education Officer, Cachar, Sudipta Dutta Choudhury- State Level Master Trainer and Mridul Kanti Chakraborty, Head Assistant of the Training & Awareness Cell.

Silchar constituency will go for the polls on 18 April. On 16 April, 2019 poll materials will be issued for the two Assembly constituencies of Lakhipur and Katigorah. Whereas, on 17 April, 2019 poll materials will be issued for the remaining 5 assembly constituencies of Silchar, Sonai. Dholai, Udharbond and Borkhola. All employees associated with polling duty were directed to report at NATRIP as per their assigned duties on 16 and/or 17 April at 6 AM. In this regard, bus service has been arranged to drop the employees at NATRIP. Buses will leave from Dak Bungalow, near the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar at 5 AM on both 16 and 17 April.
