January 23: The 65th edition of Filmfare Awards 2020 will be held in Guwahati. The gala event will be held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on 15 February 2020 and the online booking for the 65th Filmfare Awards is now open for public at Bookmyshow.com.

The starting range for the tickets grand event is Rs 1,000 and they go up to Rs three lakhs per ticket. The different categories of tickets are Rs 1000, Rs 2,500, Rs 5000, Rs 15,000, Rs 25,000, Rs 1 lakh, Rs 2 lakh, Rs 3 lakh.

Over the years, the Filmfare awards have evolved to be the country’s longest-running and most sought-after awards show. For the first time in six decades, Filmfare will host its annual gala awards ceremony outside Mumbai. This edition of Filmfare Awards is slated to be an exciting new chapter as the destination of Bollywood celebrities and entertainment meets the destination of the land of rising sun of our country.

The Filmfare ceremony is one of the oldest film events in India. The awards were first introduced in 1954, the same year as the National Film Awards. They were initially referred to as the Clare Awards or The Clares named after Clare Mendonca, the editor of The Times of India. A dual voting system was developed in 1956.

Under this system, in contrast to the National Film Awards, which are decided by a panel appointed by Indian Government, the Filmfare Awards are voted by both the public and a committee of film industry experts. The contemporary Filmfare Awards event has diversified into close to 30 categories of awards covering the popular, technical and critics’ choices. The event also has entertainment acts performed by the leading stars of the film industry. The Filmfare Awards evening is the definitive entertainment act of the movie calendar year.
