Excise department conduct raids, 4 persons along with illicit liquor apprehended

July 20: On the basis of secret information, the Cachar Excise Department conducted raids at 3 different places of the district and seized huge quantity of illicit liquor. On Friday night, at around 7.30, a team of the district Excise department conducted raids at Srikona Bazar, Srikon Bagan and Ramnagar bypass.

In the raids, local liquor to the tune of 21 litres was seized. Further, 45 liters of fermented wash and other intoxicant materials were seized. In this connection, 4 persons were arrested. They are Tuffan Panika, Bapi Panika, Munna Panika and Kuti Panika. All four of them were produced in the court on Saturday from where they were sent to jail.
