Enlist Silchar- Saurashtra Mahasadak work under PMO monitored project list, MP Karimganj writes to DoNER
April 12: Karimganj MP Kripanath Mallah wrote a letter to Union Minister of DoNER, G. Kishan Reddy to enlist Silchar- Saurashtra National Highway project under PMO monitored project list. MP Mallah in his letter wrote, “The North South East West highway corridor connecting Silchar with Saurashtra and Kashmir with Kanyakumari was mooted by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government in 1998 to transform the road infrastructure of the country. Though the grand project was launched with much fanfare, yet more than two decades have passed but the pace of the work is extremely slow.”
MP Mallah further stated, “Twenty years has already passed since the inauguration of this projects, but the fact is that the work has not yet been completed. This is truly unfortunate for the people of Barak Valley (Southern Part of Assam, which is connected to Mizoram, Tripura and some parts of Manipur). So, I request you to enlist this dream project of Silchar- Saurashtra N.H. East- West Corridor in the PMO monitored project list.”
