Electrification works in NF Railway to be complete by March end

February 7: The railway electrification works in NF Railway is going on in full swing and is expected to be complete by March end. This was informed in a press release issued by the Chief Public Relations Officer of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Pranav Jyoti Sharma.

The progress of the undertaking project was discussed in a review meeting. It was further stated that the targets for the said electrification project are set for 100% electrification by March 31, 2019, with a total cost of Rs. 2,542.62 crore.

The press release further stated that the entire mainline was segregated into different sections for speedy implementation works are being implemented by CORE (Centre for Railway Electrification) and RVNL (Railway Vikas Nigam Limited). A section from Mukuria to Raninagar Jalpaiguri including New Jalpaiguri yard (597 track kms) are being done by CORE.
