Educational Institutions in Cachar to remain close on 30th & 31st May due to heavy rainfall

Way2barak, May 29 : The educational institutions in Cachar will remain close on 30th and 31st May due to massive rainfall. Anticipating heavy rainfall in the district the Cachar District Administration has declared 30th and 31st May as holiday for educational institutions in Cachar.

Issuing an order here on Wednesday, the
District Magistrate cum Chairman District Disaster Management Authority, Rohan Kumar Jha has stated that all educational institutes both Govt. & Private) under Cachar District shall remain closed on 30th & 31st May 2024. However, the scheduled Semester and the compartmental exams shall be held as planned. The order was issued as per provision of Section 30 (2)(v) of Disaster Management Act.

It is worthy mention here that the meteorological department has issued forecasts predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall and bad weather conditions in the Cachar District and as a precautionary measure, authorities have advised residents to stay indoors and take necessary safety precautions and step out only if its absolutely necessary.
