Assam records another death of COVID +ve patient, 4th death of the day

July 12: Another COVID positive patient lost his life on Sunday. “Sad to share that Jorhat’s Ashish Sahewal (36), with no history of comorbidity, presented with sudden onset breathing difficulty at 5 am at JMCH, and lost the fight at 2.20 pm. He was #COVID +”, tweeted State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday night. Earlier during the day, 3 more COVID-19 related deaths were reported from Assam.

However, in another tweet, the state health minister informed that Assam Govt has constituted a 4-member Death Audit Board for COVID-19 in accordance with ICMR guidelines. From now onwards, officially a death will be attributed to COVID-19, only after the Board has ascertained it.
