ন্যাশনাল সেন্টার ফর সিসমোলজি জানিয়েছে, এর উৎস ছিল আসামের তেজপুর থেকে ৪৩ কিলোমিটার দূরে এবং ১৭ কিলোমিটার গভীরতায়৷ রিখটারে এই ভূমিকম্পের তীব্রতা ছিল ৬.৪৷
গুয়াহাটিতে বেশ কিছু ক্ষয়ক্ষতির খবর পাওয়া গিয়েছে৷ বহু দালানের অংশবিশেষ ভেঙে পড়েছে৷

way2barak April 28: An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale, jolted entire Assam including other parts of North East India at 7.51 AM on April 28. As per National Center for Seismology (NCS), it was stated, “Earthquake of Magnitude:6.4, occurred on 28-04-2021, 07:51:25 (IST), Lat: 26.69 & Long: 92.36, Depth: 17 Km ,Location: 43km West of Tezpur, Assam, India.” The quake was marked in the red category by NCS and the event status was reviewed. Reports of damages from various parts of Assam and North East are coming up.
