DSA Silchar provides financial assistance to 2 critically ill women players

Sept. 11: The Silchar District Sports Association (DSA) on Friday provided financial assistance of Rs 5,000 each to two outstanding players of the district from the Players’ Welfare Fund. Rajshree Karmakar, a former district and state women’s footballer is currently in dire financial crisis. She was personally handed over the cheque by the DSA authorities.

Also, Geeta Kumari, who represents Cachar district in women’s cricket has been diagnosed with severe arthritis. She would be soon taken to Patna for treatment. Her mother accepted the check on behalf of Gita Kumari. Present during the occasion were Babul Hore, President of Silchar DSA, Bijendra Prasad Singh, General Secretary, Animesh Sengupta, Treasurer among others.
