Assam University achieves best NSS State Award

Way2barak, August 31 : Assam University Silchar has been adjudged the best university for the NSS Assam State Awards 2023-24 under Programme Coordinator Prof. Gangabhushan M. Molankal. In a letter dated 30 August 2025 and signed by the Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, the award winners have been informed about the awards. The Sports & Youth Welfare Department, Government of Assam, will ceremonially distribute the NSS Assam State Awards for the years 2022-23 and 2023-24 on the occasion of State Sports Day, scheduled for September 3, 2025.

The prestigious event will be held at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi AC Indoor Stadium within the Arjuna Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex in Sarusajai, Guwahati. The Chief Minister of Assam will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest, alongside the Hon’ble Minister of Sports & Youth Welfare and other distinguished dignitaries.

All awardees have been invited to attend the ceremony. Prof. Gangabhushan M. Molankal, as the programme coordinator of Assam University’s NSS unit will receive the award from the Chief Minister of Assam on 3 September 2025.
